I was born and raised in rural Herefordshire in the UK and studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol. I decided to move into the recruitment industry to be in a more people-focused industry. I spent eight and a half years with a British recruitment business called Stanton House and during that time I went from being an Associate Consultant to leading the Hong Kong business. In my three years in Hong Kong, I specialised in senior search in emerging technology across Asia. My family and I moved to Sydney in 2020 which led me to my current role at Marshall McAdam.
At Marshall McAdam, my role as Practice Director in Sydney means that I lead our Technology & Project Services division while also running the Accounting & Finance team. In my Technology & Project Services role, I am responsible for creating a forum for senior data professionals in Sydney. This forum will enable Sydney's technical experts to share and advance the data capabilities in Australia. I will also be introducing the best local and global talent to my clients in Sydney.
Marshall McAdam is a great place to work for those looking for autonomy in a supportive environment. The culture here is all about high performance and striving to deliver 'a better way' for our clients. What I've loved seeing is the ability for anyone in the business to voice their opinions and make suggestions on how we can improve.
Outside of the office, I spend most of my time running after my boys – Arthur, born in 2019 and Wilson, a rescue pup we brought over from Hong Kong. Wilson is a true HK mongrel (with signs of Husky, Malinois and Shar Pei), who was born in a bus shelter during a typhoon and we adopted him at 8 weeks old. He is loving life here in Australia and encourages us to take him to the beach every day for a run. When the boys are asleep, I try to squeeze in some hockey and a couple of beers with my wife!
